Of K-9 and Feathered Cousins

So Dad went to CA for the graduations of a couple of the human grandkids from middle school and high school.  But what is of most interest to us Pirate Dogs is the menagerie the kids live with!!!!!  We have a good sized pack but not remarkable unless you count the chickens.  Well, maybe we should re-phrase that.  We, individually, are each quite remarkable but also a well functioning crew for The Nargle (see here for more about that name).  But the CA branch……….

This is Buddy, a Siberian Husky puppy.  Already bigger than Leny, largest of the Pirate Dogs.  Noisier than a banshee but very communicative when he wants to be.  You want to keep your toes out from under his feet.

Then there’s Bentley, who enjoys chewing on your appendages while humping your leg.
And the birds:

That’s dad’s son with Charlie who is supposed to be “his bird only” and a terror to anyone else….More on that in a moment.

Now this beast is Gandalf.  Mostly he sorta stays on his cage and either sleeps, feigns sleep, or emits a god-awful commotion of squawking.

Here’s Charlie on his cage top perch shortly before his comeuppance.
Now Charlie is feared by most of the household, being their dad’s bird and only he can control him  Well, we got a dad too, and he’s pretty awesome.
Voila:

Our dad took a selfie with Charlie perched on his arm!!!!!  So much for that bird’s terrifying reputation.  (Dad says we shouldn’t mention the scars from Charlie’s beak though….)

The youngest human has a bird named Stitch that ate our sister
Dee’s apple, pooped on her arm, then retreated to her owner’s belly……a worthy addition to the crew!!!!

This is a picture of Sunny, Dee’s dog, with a cup of ice water at an Italian ristorante.  We understand whippets are ice-cube connoisseurs.

And this is Spirit, Sunny’s housemate, a foster dog who couldn’t be moved on because he was just too cool.

And last but not least, our Dad got to meet Reha, the dog of a friend who lives in Alaska and whom we faithfully follow on Facebook.
The cat Mix-up declined to be interviewed or photographed for this story.
Best of all, our dad is back after a week in CA and we are all settled back into our routines.
